Tetcos has a Microsoft Windows-based interface with multiple views. The main screen displays all active devices in the network, what they are doing, and how large amount of data they are transferring through the network. It allows you to edit any element of your network, for example, change interface speed or configure new protocols. Other views include message log, alarms log, network statistics graph, table settings editor and protocol frame editor.

Native L2/L3 switching is included in Tetcos as well as sophisticated routing algorithms with support for OSPF/IS-IS/BGP protocols. You can create your own custom protocols if you need complex features. The network simulator comes with a powerful protocol analyzer that allows you to easily debug any routing protocol problem.

Tetcos Network Simulator supports the Cisco IOS, BSD Unix, Cisco NX-OS and Juniper Junos operating systems from both vendor. It is also possible to use it with Windows system as its interface is compatible with Microsoft Windows operating system, Win 2000/XP/NT/2k/98 and works accurately under Windows 95, 98 and ME without a proxy server.

Tetcos Network Simulator also supports remote access via FTP or USB connection if the file transfer protocol (FTP) is enabled in the software. This allows network engineers to work on their network without being physically connected to the system.

Tetcos Network Simulator is compatible with different types of protocols. It works with IP, IPX, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, ARP, ICMP and others. So you can choose if you want to simulate the real protocol or just use it in order to generate traffic through your network in order to see how each device reacts in this particular scenario.

Tetcos Network Simulator was created by Helmut Kopetzky. The first version was released in 1989 when the author started his research at university. Since then Tetcos has been used by hundreds of companies all over the globe for network troubleshooting and training purposes.
