Formed approximately 300 years ago, the Elden Ring was a group of influential members and officials who ruled over Cyoria’s Elden Empire. Although they exerted their power with great nobility, they were known to be shameless and unscrupulous. Once oppressed by the barbarians of Oldeania, they eradicated all traces of their old society, and now, 300 years later, they rule from their lavish city, Eldeni, with absolute control over Cyoria.
The role of the Elder, the ultimate leader, is assumed by someone who holds great power over the other Elden Lords. The Seneschal serves under the Elder, but can choose to rule over the lands and people if he desires. A special class of trainee, the Apprentice, is reserved for the most gifted among these servants, and as they age, they serve as Elden Knights.
As with any story of power, there are those who oppose the Elden Lords. There is the Oldeani, whose name is synonymous with the legacy of their kingdom before the Elden Empire existed. They know of the Elden Lords and are known to hate them for eliminating what they call the Oldeanian Order. Lastly, there are the freeholds, a small group of random people who practice the way of the sword. Their great power is weakened by their small numbers, and they live a hard life and care little for Cyoria.
The Elden Lords ruthlessly and confidently wield the might of Cyoria and focus on domination of the entire continent. The Oldeani pay homage to the Elden Lords, but the freeholds are the root of evil, a root that needs to be cut. Power stems from the Elden Ring and the Elden Lords; the freeholds are a danger to all, and the Elden Lords aim to destroy them.
You are the hero of the last hopes of the freeholds, and the power of the Elden Ring may depend on you.
