the player controls a running orko jr., who is in the third level trying to get to the boss battle against the formidable brandy. there are many obstacles, including a fire maze that orko cannot pass, a giant fish, and a giant turtle. he has to get to brandy in the other level. orko is able to use the power of spikes to hurt the obstacles. the first is a spiked wheel that orko lands on and kills the tree friend that was riding it. but instead of being smashed by the ground, the spikes bounce straight back at the tree friend. an example of this is the second obstacle. a huge spike obstacle comes after orko, and he jumps on it. it explodes, and makes a spiky spike. the spike will attack one of the spikes of the obstacle, but instead makes a sideways spike towards orko. also, the spikes do not move up and down like the other obstacles, they rotate too.

dr. horrible was not originally written as a comic or short film. in fact, it was originally an episode of the tv show. but since the show’s ratings were not good, the script was rewritten and it ended up as the web series that it is today. whedon’s particular genius shines through in the dialogue. never has a show with such short words been able to give so much life to an episode.

this debut game in the htf series stars a total of five characters: bowser, marina, lumpy, tiki and smiley. the gameplay is similar to the original htf games, with a few mechanics added for a more difficult gameplay. there is a course where the enemies come out of the ground, for example. but instead of scaling a rock that is too tough to climb, you must jump and pop balloons that appear on the ground to do so. some new characters are presented, like the bird lumpy, who performs an attack similar to the one mario performs in super mario sunshine where he is able to slap enemies. characters have attributes that they have. like, lumpy’s has a good attribute, which will provide a bonus to his attack, while bowser’s, for example, has one that will cause the bad guys to give him more damage. there are also new power-ups, like boss booze, who gives an enemy a penalty. and there are also some new features. instead of specific levels for each character, the game has a single level consisting of several challenges for all characters. the levels can be customized. there are levels with snow, and levels without items, for example. the character moves have different attributes, too, like the speed and gravity of mario. also, characters are able to interact with each other, like the first game. players can either throw a tennis ball to hit an enemy, or, for example, use a tennis ball as a slingshot to hit a projectile, like a fireball. this game didn’t allow different colored levels, and neither did the second or third.

in this game, there’s a normal mode and an options mode. normal mode is the same as the previous games. you can choose the difficulty levels to play as well as the number of moves to save. options mode includes character customization and choosing and editing skins. also, there’s a “fake intros” mode, where the settings are similar to the ones in the tiny princess game.
